Very relaxing.
Location absolutely perfect setting in the Hemel and Aarde valley. Tranquil and peaceful. Accommodation exceeded our expectations, just a pity we could not spend longer.

Excellent Retreat Venue
I have been facilitating Unyoke Retreats for the last 3 yeas at Volmoed. Situated in the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (Heaven and Earth Valley) it is a beautiful, quiet, serene, affordable and ideal venue for retreats. The staff are professional and very helpful. The accommodation is first class. It gives you a sense of being at home away from home. One of the best features of Volmoed is the art studio where retreat participants are accompanied by Alyson, the local artist.

Beautiful setting for an amazing getaway in a secluded valley.
Although we used the Old Farm House as a base while we were working in the area our team enjoyed the time that we did spend there. The beds and rooms are all comfortable and spacious. The braai facilities and outdoor area were great for unwinding after a long day. Showers work well. The grounds are amazing - perfect for an escape from the madding crowd! Thank you for a great stay Volmoed!

A place to be restored
I had discovered Volmoed three years ago and wanted absolutely to come back to this very special place. I had remembered something like paradise: a quiet, peaceful spot in a beautiful valley. This time, I traveled with my wife to celebrate several things in our lives. When we arrived, a huge bush fire had just run over the mountains around Volmoed; fortunately, the place itself had been spared and kept its beauty. If you're looking for a place to rest, to be restored, to find peace - Volmoed is it. The lodgings are simple, but very well kept. The hospitality by the team is excellent. You do not simply rent a place, you are invited to join - for the time you are there - a community at the the degree you want to share with them.
If Volmoed were not that far away from where I live in Switzerland, I would certainly return much more often.

A piece of heaven just 6kms from Hermanus
I had a wonderful weekend on my own, enjoying the beauty, fresh air and all that Volmoed has to offer. It was magical and I will be sure to return with my kids. I highly recommend Volmoed for couples, families and groups looking to break away from the hussle and bussle of life.

Cry of the Fish Eagle
We have been visiting Volmoed for over 19 years. While Praying outside the Prayer Hut we heard the destinct cry of the Fish Eagle for the 1st time in our lives, so refreshing. God always speak to us at Volmoed concerning our lives in the city. There is just such an awesome presence of God over Volmoed

What a unique and beautiful space! thank you for sharing it! I loved the peaceful time I had, and it was wonderful to have some girl time away from my household of boys! the walks, a swim at the waterfall, quiet time, reading by the fire, sketching, sundowners - such a versatile space to enjoy all of this...as well as a little trip into Hermanus to see a whale or 2!!

The beauty of volmoed is its location, its simplicity, its quiet, its history and that indescribable something that can only be described as spirit. This place revived my soul. The rooms are very simple, and clean and assist in decluttering from the city life bustle. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, beyond my expectations. Oh, and one of my favourite things it that I was able to ride directly onto the MTB trails for a couple of hours of trails in the hemel en aarde (heaven and earth) valley. I had space and quiet to think and pray and find some healing for my soul. THANK YOU VOLMOED.
